01 1A Richard Webb Ealing Flower Club Well seen, I just find the green of the leaf behind over saturated and intrusive.
01 1B Richard Webb Ealing Flower Club Great timing, shame the bee flew away from you, good detail throughout, try cloning out bud bottom left.
01 1C Richard Webb Ealing Flower Club Good detail and greens handled very well.
Class 1 - Urban Nature
03 1A Helen Sinclair Individual Member HC Good detail held in white wall and lady gives scale to image
03 1B Helen Sinclair Individual Member 2nd Really fits the brief, well seen and great capture
03 1C Helen Sinclair Individual Member Also fits brief well, wonder if a step to the right might take lamp post off centre
05 1A Leigh Jennings Ealing Flower Club Very interesting scene, but find it a little bit cluttered
I'm bigger than you

05 1B Leigh Jennings Ealing Flower Club Well exposed and beautiful flowers, unfortunately does not say urban.
05 1C Leigh Jennings Ealing Flower Club Well exposed and like the path on right leading you into the flowers, try removing white sky on the top.
06 1A Norma Leslie Orpington Floral Art Society Great shot of ducklings on urban path, the pink on bottom left a bit distracting.
06 1B Norma Leslie Orpington Floral Art
Society Well captured good detail throughout would help to brighten the squirrel.Ducklings, Squirrel.
06 1C Norma Leslie Orpington Floral Art
Society HC Super capture, sharp and well exposed, the urban wall gives good base.
07 1A Christine Pearce Ealing Flower Club Image in another category – good composition.
07 1B Christine Pearce Ealing Flower Club HC Nature coming to you in urban landscape, well taken.
07 1C Christine Pearce Ealing Flower Club Well noticed good colour range, would trim off bottom to get rid of intrusion.
As you have cropped off his tail you could take out the post on the left.
Green Woodpecker
08 1A HC Individual Member Well exposed urban scene, like the way the red umbrella and the 2 cannas make a triangle for the eye to travel round the image
08 1B Christiane Duckworth Individual Member Well exposed colourful image, I wonder if one step to the left would separate the horse from
the building.
08 1C Christiane Duckworth Individual Member Very unusual scene and the cockerel just adds that extra element. Would crop off post on right
09 1A Mary Devlin Ealing Flower Club HC Love the viewpoint, great detail throughout the image.

09 1B Mary Devlin Ealing Flower Club Great symmetry like the way the arch echoes the door
09 1C Mary Devlin Ealing Flower Club Lucky capture of fox retrieving young well done for capturing a split second of time
11 1A Daiva Barzdeliene Ealing Flower Club Well done for spotting something different, as it goes out of focus quite quickly I would turn it
into a square format.
11 1B Daiva Barzdeliene Ealing Flower Club The only part in focus is the finial this makes a more creative image, please be aware of

12 Peter Bodnar Ealing Flower Club Love the inclusion of the pigeons I find the image a little under exposed, wonder if there was more light on one of the other faces of the memorial.
13 1A Victor Froese Floral Artists of The Fraser Valley A delightful garden, with a good lead in to the archway.
13 1B Victor Froese Floral Artists of The Fraser Valley This Swallowtail is well seen and beautifully photographed, but does not particularly say urban
13 1C Victor Froese Floral Artists of The Fraser Valley The squirrel is somewhat lost in the background, but again does not particularly say urban
My Garden, Swallowtail, Squirrel.
14 01A Warren Wong Hong Kong Flower Club 3rd Love the humour in this, nice and crisp and well exposed, would just crop to the bottom of the
yellow sign
14 01B Warren Wong Hong Kong Flower Club 1st Really enjoy the way the pigeons are echoing in reverse, brilliant lighting
17 1A Hilary Lloyd Ealing Flower Club The fox is somewhat lost in the foliage, particularly with the very bright bulding in the background.
17 1B Hilary Lloyd Ealing Flower Club Although the foliage gies the hint ofan urban garden, the squirrel is somewhat lost in the snow, although I do like the catchlight you have caught in the eye.

17 1C Hilary Lloyd Ealing Flower Club The sky is dominant in the image but I feel if you had zoomed in on the tree this would have
made a more powerful image.
19 1A Wendy Y Hong Kong Flower Club Not particularly urban, although a well seen picture of the tiny insect.
19 1B Wendy Y Hong Kong Flower Club Vaguely reminiscent of an urban environment but again not strong interpretation of the title.
19 1C Wendy Y Hong Kong Flower Club I like the low level vantage point, which brings out the texture in the tree trunk, against an interesting house
Nature Dominates
20 1A Wu Chun Yin Hong Kong Flower Club Although a delightful image with the water coming from the tp and the two people at the bottom, it definitely is not urban.
21 1A Ann Peters BC Floral Art Society An interesting image of the Supertree Observatory, although it might have been stronger if the tree on the left had been straightened.
21 1B Ann Peters BC Floral Art Society A much stronger image than the previous image, by virtue of the fact that the tree on the right is straight. Also including the walk way creates a more exciting image.
22 1A Malgosia Zajackowska Ealing Flower Club A different interpretation of the class but interesting. If you are able it would have been a stronger image if you could have straightened the building on the left.
22 1B Malgosia Zajackowska Ealing Flower Club The reflection of the clematis in the window adds to the image, well seen
22 1C Malgosia Zajackowska Ealing Flower Club Good detail in the leaf and I am enjoying the building that is hiding behind the leaves.
23 1A Marilla Logan Ealing Flower Club HC Parakeet so well camouflaged it took a second to spot him, well taken in difficult lighting, if possible just darken base, well done Parakeet Enjoying Catalpa Bean

- First Prize – Pallavi Jhawar (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India)
- Second Prize – Priti Nathany (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India)
- Third Prize – Bhawani Bansal (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India)
Feedback from Valerie Best our NAFAS Accredited National Judge
I thoroughly enjoyed judging this class. Some delightful work and inspired designs. An outstanding class of a very high standard with original and extremely innovative work. The use of texture and colour was exceptionally good. Some photography, especially placement and lighting, did not show all exhibits to their best advantage.
Very Highly Commended: Alka Gupta (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India) & Lily More (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India)
Highly Commended: Judith Tearle ((Ealing Flower Club) & Preeti Sarda (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India)
Commended: Tania M Darmanin (Individual Member, Malta) & Anita Kedia (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India)

Class Two “PLANT PROFUSION” (A floral craft exhibit) A Pressed Flower Picture
- First Prize – Beryl Hutchinson (Cuffley Flower Club)
- Second Prize – Jane Patterson (Eltham Park Floral Art Club)
- Third Prize – Sunita Kanoria (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India)
Feedback from Valerie Best our NAFAS Accredited National Judge
I thoroughly enjoyed judging these two classes. Some delightful work and inspired designs. A good class of exhibits with mainly traditional features. Pressed flowers can be difficult to use and so space, form and texture needs careful choice and consideration of plant materials. Some exhibits were overfull with pressed flowers of similar texture, shape and size. Additionally, some frames were a little visually heavy. Greater use of contrast would have improved many of the entries. As in Class 1, photography did not do full justice to many of the exhibits. Placement, position and lighting need some experimentation.
Very Highly Commended: Divya Bhagat (Pushpabitan Friendship Society, India)
Highly Commended: Norma Leslie (Orpington Floral Art Society) & Tania M Darmanin (Individual Member, Malta)
Commended: Mita Kanoria (Individual Member, Malta)
